La Ceiba is one of Colombia's longest running Ayahuasca Retreat Centers.
Our Story began over a decade ago, when fate decided to weave the paths of our founder's lives, from across cultures and continents, uniting them around a shared intention - to serve humanity in it's evolution, and together, return to our origins and the power of our Hearts - Since that time, thousands of people from across the world have joined us, transforming their lives in ancestral ceremonies, becoming family, and helping to light the way for what is yet to come.
La Ceiba is recognized internationally as a world-class ancestral healing center, which deeply honors the thousands of years of tradition and indigenous wisdom which have protected these sacred medicines until this day. complementing with modern therapies, cultivating a sacred space for profound personal transformation and collective healing.

WHAT IS AYAHUASCA
For over a thousand years, this Amazonian plant medicine has been used in a sacred context, by Indigenous healers throughout the Amazon basin, as a profound healing modality.
The scope of this ancient medicine is vast, for when consumed in its traditional context, Ayahuasca induces an altered state of consciousness, opening a gateway for deep therapeutic work to address dis-ease in the body, mind, and spirit. At its core, this medicine initiates a profound cleansing process, purging physical and energetic blockages that disconnect us from our true selves and our divine essence. this process works to release us from traumas and to re-awaken our innate abilities, allowing us to gain clarity on our life's purpose. It is the foundation for the traditional medicine systems of over 75 different cultures in the Amazon, and has spread to various regions across the globe, offering healing for many illnesses and dis-ease where modern medicine has failed.

A "Fair" Price
To this day, there are many elders in the indigenous communities who believe that these sacred medicines should not be shared with the modern world, for they fear it will be overtaken by man’s greed, corrupting the essence of these sacred traditions – and they aren’t mistaken, as over the last decade, Ayahuasca tourism has spread across the world, often times driven by capitalistic profit models. Many retreats charge upwards of 3 to 4 times the amount we charge for our retreats, while offering fewer ceremonies, and smaller facilitation teams than our own
we believe that in order to preserve the integrity of this work, the principles of fairness, balance, and sustainability must always be held in place, and that the core intention be service to humanity rather than economic gain - We therefore strive to offer a world-class experience, with word-class facilities and support, at a fair price.

Under the Inga traditions, however, music plays a very important role in ceremony, helping us to connect to our spirits, to lead us into our depths, and to raise our frequency in celebration of life. In our retreats there are many spaces of silence and contemplation, however we will also be accompanied by world class musicians, whose musical mastery deeply enriches the journey, and for most people who have experienced other less musical Ayahuasca traditions like those found in Peru, this is often said to be one of the most unforgettable and powerful elements that sets La Ceiba apart.
The Art of Creating Sacred Space
The container in which ceremony is conducted is equally as important as the medicine itself. Which is why the act of creating a sacred space in which to embark on this journey, begins long before people arrive, and continues long after the retreat has finished. La Ceiba is a living temple, dedicated solely to this mission, cared for daily and protected from any unwanted energies or un-aligned intentions. Respecting and honoring the invisible relationships with the territory, the spirits and the guardians that protect these mountains.

Throughout recent years, many modern forms of Ayahuasca retreats have arisen, ranging from ultra-luxurious resort getaways to rustic month-long immersions in the heart of the jungle. At La Ceiba, we believe in the middle way. We offer the comfort and safety of our stunning facilities, immersed in a natural sanctuary in the heart of the Colombian Andes, while deeply honoring the structures, traditions and wisdom of the indigenous Elders which uphold these medicines, and provide the context for their use - creating a powerful, authentic, and safe container for your journey.

I have completed four 5-day retreats at La Ceiba over the past 3 years, most recently in November 2024. This is the one of most special places on Earth for healing, truth and clarity. The host, Keenan is a phenominal leader of the home, the medicine, cermonies and the journey occuring for everyone. He has a great ability to help you see your own truth and to provide guidance to achieve the most out of your experience. Dr. Cata provides a great deal of medical support to ensure that you'll feel safe and cared for along with an abundance of spirtual guidance as well. The Taita takes great care of the medicine and you can be confident it is coming from the most pure and clean process from the amazon in Peru. The connection with the Ayahuasca provided here has always brought me a lot of clarity, direction and purpose. There is a great amount of love and care that goes into each detail and process during the week. The home is absolutely beautiful and has many interestings areas to both connect with others or have some private space to yourself for whatever your needs are. The amount of nature and scenery from the home that changes by the hour is mind blowing. The house is very clean, organized and efficient. The food quality is terrific and integrates well in between ceremonies fo easy digestion and clarity. The musicians performing throughout the retreat are the cherry on top for me. It helps the transformation process as you feel the need to expand during the retreat. The closing Inipi cermony will feel like a rebirth out of the womb.
I have taken Ayahuasca at 5 other locations in the US and South America and there is nothing that remotely compares to the experience at La Ceiba. I heavily recommend that anyone really looking to do some work in their life, to heal, to growth and to get some clarity....this is the place to go for whatever you need.

Wow, what an experience and a voyage this was! Aside from very personal and deep ceremony experience, which was devine; La Ceiba was so much more. Multiple layers of transformational experience - amazing hosts and team, commited, emerged and initiated; garden of eden nature, good facilities, complete safety, peace and order. Music was a major part of the overall retreat, and it was amazing and inpiring. La Ceiba is for sure a golden standard for ancestral medicine ceremonies and retreats. La Ceiba is an amazing retreat center, masterfully led by organizer and facilitator Keenan, who brings over 10 years of experience as a space holder. Situated in a magical finca in the mountains of Girardota, the center boasts with high standards. It features a large garden filled with various fruit trees and plants, alongside a spacious pool and hiking trails.
The events are diligently organized by Keenan and his team, all of whom are conscious individuals dedicated to caring for their guests with love and attention. AN EXPERIENCE BEYOND WHAT I'VE SEEN BEFORE
There are many places around the world where medicine is given but La Ceiba team have such an incredible attention to details that take the experience beyond what i've seen in other centres. Beginning with the beautiful house full of textures and colours and the lush gardens tha attract humming birds and parrots. The spaces are well maintained and kept clean throughout the retreat. The team provides great hospitality and the food is well balanced and delicious. A part from the container also the content is incredibly well thought-out. Probably the highlight are the talented musicians that share their own medicine and talent with all the participants. The space during the ceremony is held with lots of love and compassion and the team show great respect and knowledge for the ancestral myths and traditions... Really recommended!

I recently had the opportunity to visit La Ceiba Ayahuasca Healing Center in Girardota, Colombia, and it was truly transformative. The serene environment, surrounded by nature, provided a perfect setting for introspection and self-improvement.
I left with a profound testimony, having met many people struggling with depression, anxiety, and childhood traumas, and witnessing how this plant helped them become better versions of themselves. Led by Taita Henri, Keenan, and Catalina, the entire staff’s attention and support are truly unique. They show genuine interest in every person, making everyone feel welcomed and loved. It takes a gentle and compassionate soul to do such a difficult job with consistent dedication.

This is by far the best place in all of Antioquia and Medellin to come to if you are looking for a deep healing experience with the sacred medicine Ayahuasca. I have been coming here since 2019 and i keep returning. I feel super comfortable and safe here that it allows me to fully surrender to the medicine and have the most profound healing journeys. It is very well organized, Keenan and his team are my brothers. Henrri the shaman is a master, his medicine is very strong, pure and made with so much love. The location is also incredible, amazing views, surrounded by nature. We can't forget the music either! the music artists are incredible, each word of each song they sing touches my soul!
