The
Hero's Journey
Experience Our Retreat

We welcome you to embark on a life-changing journey of self-discovery. To explore and deepen your connections to Self and the world around you. To grow, to heal, and to remember the power that you carry within your being – The Hero’s Journey is a journey home – a return to the men and women that we were born to be.
Held in a breathtaking sanctuary, within the lush mountains of Colombia, our 6-day (5 nights) retreats are guided by Ayahuasca — an ancient plant medicine deeply rooted in the healing traditions of the Amazon. Our ceremonies are led by indigenous crowned-Shaman of the Inga lineage – Master healers who have dedicated their lives to this sacred ancestral medicine. With decades of experience, we weave ancient traditions with personalized support, balance and integration – creating a powerful yet grounded environment for your journey. Our retreats provide for a "full", pure, and authentic immersion with the medicine.

The
Pillars
Of Our
Retreats

The Human Element
At the heart of our philosophy is the human element – it is the understanding that this work cannot be mass produced, for true connection and healing is as personal an experience as there is. It requires trust, commitment and genuine presence. Which is why for us, each retreat is a unique sacred moment that we will discover and co-create together.
At La Ceiba, no one is above or below anyone else – we are all but brothers and sisters navigating towards the same shores. We honor the bio-diversity of humanity and the call to unity – And though you will share the experience with strangers… it’s safe to say you will leave with lifelong friends – and allies for the road ahead.

A "Fair" Price
To this day, there are many elders in the indigenous communities who believe that these sacred medicines should not be shared with the modern world, for they fear it will be overtaken by man’s greed, corrupting the essence of these sacred traditions – and they aren’t mistaken, as over the last decade, Ayahuasca tourism has spread across the world, often times driven by capitalistic profit models. Many retreats charge upwards of 3 to 4 times the amount we charge for our retreats, while offering fewer ceremonies, and smaller facilitation teams than our own
we believe that in order to preserve the integrity of this work, the principles of fairness, balance, and sustainability must always be held in place, and that the core intention be service to humanity rather than economic gain - We therefore strive to offer a world-class experience, with word-class facilities and support, at a fair price.

The Natural Rhythm
Our retreats follow a structure, but are also fluid and alive – as the Ayahuasca awakens within us a different type of intelligence, through which we are guided back into the natural rhythms of our body, mind, and spirit – this process allows for us to evolve in real time – and although you will be supported at each step of the process, you will also be respected and treated as the masters that you are – for only you have the keys to your life
the ceremony, however, creates a safe container for you to intuitively explore your inner world, and to see your life with clarity – it provides powerful tools, guidance, and the invitation to transform what needs to be transformed – so that you may release what no longer serves you, and rise in joy towards the next chapter of your life.

Music = Medicine
Every form of life in nature sings, has a rhythm, emits a pulse, which, however small - creates a direct impact on everything around it, we as human beings have the virtue and privilege of having transformed vibration into a language, into a science of infinite possibilities: Music
All of the diverse Ayahuasca traditions have their science and mastery. Under the Inga traditions, however, music plays a very important role in ceremony, helping us to connect to our spirits, to lead us into our depths, and to raise our frequency in celebration of life. In our retreats there are many spaces of silence and contemplation, however we will also be accompanied by world class musicians, whose musical mastery deeply enriches the journey, and for most people who have experienced other less musical Ayahuasca traditions like those found in Peru, this is often said to be one of the most unforgettable and powerful elements that sets La Ceiba apart.

The Art of Creating Sacred Space
The container in which ceremony is conducted is equally as important as the medicine itself. Which is why the act of creating a sacred space in which to embark on this journey, begins long before people arrive, and continues long after the retreat has finished. La Ceiba is a living temple, dedicated solely to this mission, cared for daily and protected from any unwanted energies or un-aligned intentions. Respecting and honoring the invisible relationships with the territory, the spirits and the guardians that protect these mountains.
- These are the unseen laws that sustain the balance of Nature’s alters - La Ceiba is a home – it is a family – This is a very important distinction to many other retreats which contract venues to then host their events. For these same reasons, La Ceiba holds a limited number of retreats each year, typically every two months – which allows for us to truly create a sacred moment together, something new and unique, and special not only for the participants, but for us as a team as well. In this way, we may give our full presence and respect to the power of this Ancestral medicine.

The Middle Way
Throughout recent years, many modern forms of Ayahuasca retreats have arisen, ranging from ultra-luxurious resort getaways to rustic month-long immersions in the heart of the jungle. At La Ceiba, we believe in the middle way. We offer the comfort and safety of our stunning facilities, immersed in a natural sanctuary in the heart of the Colombian Andes, while deeply honoring the structures, traditions and wisdom of the indigenous Elders which uphold these medicines, and provide the context for their use - creating a powerful, authentic, and safe container for your journey.
It’s also important to remember that one of the fundamental ingredients to transformation and growth (especially when dealing with ancestral medicine) is in fact “getting out of your comfort zone”, and therefore along this journey there will be challenges, but you will face them alongside capable brothers and sisters who will support you on your journey – and on the other side, you’ll only be able to smile, and thank yourself for having done so.
